SYNK Radio is Now Licensed
We just secured our broadcasting license. SYNK Radio is now a fully licensed online radio station.
Okay so this is pretty sick. SYNK Radio just got licensed.
This is honestly a huge deal for us. We're now a fully recognized, legitimate radio station. Everything's completely official.
What does this license actually mean?
Basically, we're legit now.
We're officially recognized as a proper radio station. We pay royalties to artists when their tracks play. That's how the whole industry is supposed to work.
Having this license puts us right there with established stations. We're following the same rules as everyone else.
How did we get licensed?
So here's the thing. I'm actually operating under someone else's license.
They already had everything sorted. The paperwork, the fees, all the legal stuff. I didn't have to deal with any of that myself. Pretty lucky honestly.
I'm basically running SYNK Radio under their umbrella. They handle the licensing side and I handle running the station. Works out well for everyone.
Does anything change for you guys?
Not really, no.
The stream stays exactly the same. Quality's still good. Music selection isn't changing. You'll still get UK garage, drum and bass, and hardcore 24/7.
What changes is all behind the scenes. We're reporting plays officially now. Artists get their royalties through proper channels. Everyone gets their cut. Pretty straightforward.
Why this matters
Because honestly, doing things properly just makes sense.
Artists should get paid for their work. The licensing system makes sure everyone gets their fair share. Now we're part of that ecosystem.
Sure, there are fees involved. But it's totally worth it knowing we're actually supporting the scene.
What this means going forward
We can actually grow properly now.
Expanding feels way better with proper licensing sorted. We can build something that'll actually last. Add more shows. Stream more content. All above board.
We're also looking at partnerships now. Other platforms generally prefer working with licensed stations. So yeah, that's possible for us now.
Actually supporting the music
This goes beyond just business stuff.
UK garage, drum and bass, hardcore... these genres survive because people actively support them. Buying tracks, going to shows, and yeah, paying licensing fees for broadcasts.
Every stream we play now actually contributes back to the artists. That's how it should work.
What we're planning next
More content, better streams, steady growth.
Right now it's just me running things. No DJs yet. But that could change as we grow. Maybe bring people on for live sessions. We'll see how it goes.
The foundation's solid now. Infrastructure's strong. Legal stuff's handled through the license. We can just focus on the music.
Come listen
Tune in at synkradio.co.uk. We're streaming 24/7.
Your listening now directly supports artists through proper licensing. That's actually pretty cool.
Stick around. This is just the beginning.
